Education program for certified representatives of disabled people - MODUL 4C

The representative of disabled people - MODUL 4C: Welfare state in danger? - Social security in Austria today and tomorrow

Contents:

Neo-liberal diction describes the welfare state as "encrusted", "overburdening and overpriced", too "bureaucratic" and "inefficient", creating a climate of social coldness. But what exactly is the (Austrian) welfare state? How did it come about and how does it work? Whom is it protecting? Where does it get the money from and who determines that? Does anyone find work that really seeks one? Have we lived beyond our means? Who wants to modernize the welfare state and why? These and other questions should be dealt with in the seminar and there also remains time for reflection and exchange.
